2012 Niue 1 oz Silver Kitten Collection Scottish Fold

Scottish Fold. Named after the uniquely folded ears cats within this breed commonly develop, the fold mutation is believed to trace back to a single barn cat from Coupar Angus in Perthshire, Scotland. Along with its unique physical characteristics, the Scottish Folds affectionate and placid temperament endears it to many. This coin features a full colored image of a Scottish Fold cat printed on a Silver background engraved with the outline of a cat and the words OUR FRIENDS and Scottish Fold. The coin also features a small image of a yarn ball matched in color to the coins delightful display case. The obverse of the coin features the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is issued by New Zealand Mint as legal tender, under the authority of Niue Island. Each coin is presented in a delightful custom molded display case shaped like a ball of yarn.
